It has potential, but I really prefer to hear a layered and finished song. Good sounding guitar work, though. Now add more!

Yeah

this is tight. Mind if I have a go at turning this melody into a full song? You told Aera that you don't care so I'll assume you won't mind. ;) This is a great little ditty though

yagru responds:

better give me cred ya mooch

nice

All I gotta say, is that you're better with harmonizing than I am... and I've been making tunes for a while now! Very good job, It has a very upbeat yet kindly restrained feel to it. The only thing I would say needs improvement is a little more variation in your percussion sounds. Keep up the good work ;)

Ardamaeus responds:

Thanks for the review!

If you do have trouble harmonizing, if you know a good guitar player I suggest working with FL with chords and bass lines to start out, its really an eye opener to see how chords work in FL.

And check out basshunter "how to make a nice song in FL" on youtube to get an idea on how to make both base and melody harmonies. He speak Swedish though... so you'll have to go without any voice direction!

It's not bad...

for starters. The main gripe I have, is that the "clap" sounds more like a wet fart than a clap. It needs a little more of a snare-like snap to it, to remain effective. Other than that, it's a pretty decent hip hop loop!

randomheckler responds:

I hear the wet fart! ha ha. Thanks i'll fix that. thanks for the comment.

So good.

Wholesome chip-filled goodness. You, and your songs fucking rock. Love it.

BadCommandCo responds:

Thanks, Gorgor!

I really like this. Very happy and catchy. Reminds me of old school games. Keep up the great work, dude.

Nice

I like the beat, and the overall feel of this. The guitar tone fit surprisingly well, although the actual timbre of it kinda made my ears bleed. If you can, try to emulate that with a real electric guitar (or a better plug-in), and it would sound great. Good use of varying sounds/instruments though... 4/5 8/10

elektrobear responds:

I searched the internet for hours upon hours, just to find a good distorted guitar sample. That one was the best I found, and it still sounds bad unless I use some filters on it(which in turn produces a bit of ear bleedingness.) I would absolutely love to record a real electric guitar for this song, and probably will this summer. Going to Norway to work for my grandfather and he has a small studio in his garage.

Actually, I opened up fruity loops after reading your review and tried changing the sound of the guitar a bit. The more I tried to remove the ear bleeding, the more it sounded like a high pitched buzz, and lost the powerful and harsh sound it had before. One solution on my side might be turning the volume down a bit, since it's a bit louder than the rest of my songs..

Anyway, thanks for a nice review!

Very good

I'm impressed with the overall sound, though it is a bit repetitive. Again, great for background music in a movie or game ;) p.s. the fade-in and outs are pretty sweet.

e991e responds:

Thanks for the review though

Very chill...

I like the "low-ness" of this. It's very chill-worthy and loopable, it would make a fine loop for use in a movie or flash project.

e991e responds:

Thanks Gorgorothx

great sound

You should surely consider making this into a full song. Tell me when you do ;)

Gonif responds:

Thanks!

Will do :D

In St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives. Seven wifes with seven hats, seven hats with seven flats, seven flats with seven knives, seven knives with seven lies. Lies, knives, flats, hats, wives, Ives - who would win in a fight, a dead baby or Robot Shaq?
