Wow dude

This makes me feel inadequate as an artist. Thanks alot! haha jk but seriously, the only thing I can really say about this is: Why are you not getting paid to make this stuff? It would work great in a variety of films/games whatever else. Keep up the great work.

DavidOrr responds:

I am getting paid to make this stuff, but this is something I'm offering to the public before I license it away. Glad you enjoyed it!

The master of shred:

Wow, dude. Sounds amazing, and epic. Sorry about the shitty hi-hat sound near the end of the song. I just obtained EZdrummer, so I'm gonna start messing with that for more realistic sounds. Great work as always, Bad-Man... I'll be tossing another beat your way sometime in the next week or so. Cheers!

p.s. The breakdown actually sounded sweet. You did more of an old school style breakdown, which is still cool.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks dude. Drums kick ass. Can't wait to see what you do with EZ. Just make sure you turn the mix to "dry". That makes the toms and snares WAY more heavy.
The cymbals need to be a "roomy" mix...
So yeah, that means exporting separately. haha. Thats what I do.

Anyways, RTFON.
Thanks for the review, and the drum track to jam to.

Nice, dude!

For not planning very much, this turned out quite well ;) What interface do you use to record? Sounds effing awesome, dude... effing awesome. I will totally make this a contest, now. Cheers!! -Alex

TwilightNecrosis responds:

I'm glad you like it, man! Couldn't have done it without your awesome drum track.
I'm using a Presonus Audiobox USB, with a dbx dB10 passive direct box to record my guitar straight in.
For the distortion, I used 4 different amp models (2 per side) going through the same cabinet impulse (simultaneously... less CPU usage when you only have 1 keFIR running, as opposed to 4).
It's a decent setup; I'm a lot more happy with the dbx passive direct box than I was with the Behringer active box I had before.
The dbx's noisefloor is SO MUCH lower, it's almost embarassing.
Anyway, I digress. I'm glad you enjoyed, man. I'm waiting for the next one!
Metal! \m/

hmmm...

I gave you a score, because it sounds really good (almost too good)... but this sounds suspiciously similar to "Baby I Love Your Way" by Peter Frampton, or maybe another song I'm familiar with... not sure.

Nice

Very atmospheric and easy to listen to. I really like the little lead at about 2:00. The overall Arabic vibe worked very well. I will now check out your other work!

Nice, dude!!

I'm so glad someone actually used this! And so soon after I posted it. Nicely done, I will be posting at least one new Shred-A-Long session every week (though probably more) *favorited*!

Black-Cloak-of-Night responds:

Thanks dude. I will try to mess around every week then.

Not bad

I like the varying tones in the snare, but it sounds too machinated. I'd suggest working with velocities a little bit to give it a more dynamic (and realistic) sound. Also the way it "loops" didn't sit well with me. Other than those nitpicks, it it quite unique and fun. I would like to hear a continuation of this ;) Let me know if you do

poguemahon responds:

I'll see what I can do in the direction of this. I'm going to, I guess, work on a finished piece.

Very enjoyable

I loved the glitchy-ness of this. The drums sit really nicely in the mix, and the tones fit. Good job ;)

Wow.

Nicely done with the sounds! I love the way the chords kinda "morphed" over time. Very enjoyable little 8-bit track you've got here.

Very nice!

It does seem a little lo-fi, but it is still very much enjoyable. I fucking love the Kaossilator... isn't that thing a blast to just mess around with!? I'm pretty sure Korg is a bunch of geniuses. Anyways great job, and good luck in the "Feelings of Music Contest" -Alex

Syntrus responds:

I rly like the thing. very expensive but totally worth it.

In St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives. Seven wifes with seven hats, seven hats with seven flats, seven flats with seven knives, seven knives with seven lies. Lies, knives, flats, hats, wives, Ives - who would win in a fight, a dead baby or Robot Shaq?
